![]() After firming themselves as one of the most competitive teams in the world of Trackmania Nations, in the ESL Premiership, Revoltados
eSports division launches themselves in a new
competition, TNA.
With great names in the International Trackmania environment present, this is a demanding competition for all the TMN-F teams in the world. But before that, "What is TNA". In January 2008, it was created the tournament "TrackMania Nations Arena"(TNA). With the presence of around 100 teams, incluiding some of the best trackmania teams at the time, such as aX.tm,
nowadays known as n!faculty,
who ended up winning the tournament after a fantastic and stiff
semi-final versus nEph(7-6
/ 7-6). The final was therefore versus o-Q,
which nowadays are part of two teams - rL
and nWo. This 2nd edition of the tournament had its begginning in 28th January and will be in a somewhat different format compared with the 1st edition. New rules: - The games will be played at wednesday and will have its begginning at 19h - 20h (Portuguese time). - Team limit is 128 teams - Each group will be made of 4 teams only. The two best teams will advance to the playoffs. - It won't be launched new mappacks each week, but a new mappack each tournament stage, a measure that was extremmelly well received by most players, and therefore we have the following divisions: - One mappack for the groupstage; - One mappack for the playoffs - 32th, 16th and 8ths; - One mappack for the quarter finals and semi-finals; - One mappack for the finals. - Won't exist a multi-lap track and the mappack will be constituted by 2 maps with the duration of aroun 1min and one map with the duration of 45-47 seconds. - The three maps will be played with a maxpoint limit of 7. - There will not exist draws, only the maps will be accounted for the final result. - In the playoff stage, the double elimination will kick in, giving a second chance to reach the finals. It may occur some more changes, but these are the main rules, changing the struture of the tournament. This release system of the mappacks was adopted, due to the massive players complains from the last tournament. Having to train 3 maps all weeks i nthe competitons is in fact extremmelly complicated. The administrators now hope that the players are pleased with this system, which also differs from the ESL system. We went on and have a little chat with the head responsible for the TMN-F division of Revoltados eSports
to know a bit more about his expectations. What level of importance this tournament has for Rev ? Lvs
-
Once included in the group of the 8 top teams in the ESL, this
tournament might work, as i hope it does, to confirm what its a certainty for
me. The certainty that we are one of the best teams in world of TMNF.The tournament is also important to reconfirm our quality and proove to the ones that might have some doubts about our gaming quality. What are "our" objectives? Lvs
- As usual, and given the tournament structure, the luck in the initial
drawings, has its influences in the final outcome. But the minimal objective, is to at least reach the top 8 finalists. From that point on, the "sky" is the limit. The only thing left is to wish the team the best of lucks, and that they trully reach their goals and they keep on perfoming as excellent as they have so far.
